2016 Nationals

2016 Season Recap

My 2016 Para-cycling season ended on a very positive note. Although I failed to accomplish my goal of qualifying for the Paralympic games this cycle, I must admit I’m very excited for an opportunity to continue my quest on to the 2020 games in Tokyo.

Since this was an Olympic year our cycling season was unusually short. I did have a chance to compete at the Redlands Classic (my favorite race) as a tune up for Nationals. I secured a 2nd place overall.

Next I competed at Nationals and finished 4th place in the Time Trial. Then the next day I surprised even myself by managing to finish 2nd place and secured the silver medal in the road race. Unfortunately, I was I was unable to compete in the crit race at Nationals because of a mechanical issue.

2016 has been my best result thus far at a National Championship!!! I would like to thank Cotie Williams as well as Pedro Payne for their awesome pit crew expertise. I would also like to thank my sponsor PossAbilities and my fellow cyclist for their support. I would also like to thank the great folks at Quest diagnostic for their generous contributions to help me and my fellow athletes achieve our athletic goals.
