Set a NEW PERSONAL BEST at the final Fiesta Island TT of 2018! Great feeling to finish off the season on a HIGH! By Jenna RollmanJenna Rollman
Fall is in full swing and this is usually the time of year when most people are winding down and preparing for the holidays, so it was a great personal success to end the 2018 Fiesta Island TT season on a high note! 😄
I have been training intensely on my indoor trainer for the last three months and there aren’t many races going on at the moment so I haven’t had a chance to gauge where my fitness is at in a race setting. The October Fiesta Island TT was naturally the perfect time to get out and do a competitive stress test!
The conditions were perfect with mild temperatures and no wind which set the stage for optimal performance. My mind and body felt great and I was jumping at the start line to get out and push myself. From the get go I knew I had the energy for a strong effort and the numbers did not disappoint!!
I finished with an all-time personal record of an 18.9 mph average,.2 faster than my previous best average speed and only .5 mph under WH3 Paralympic National Standard!! WAHOO!!!
This is what I have been working so hard to get to and it is spectacular to see I am getting closer all the time,
especially since 2019 is going to be a pivotal year in deciding who will go to the Paralympics and I want to be there!!
