2021 Cancerthon

2021 Cancerthon

This past weekend I participated in the Santa Fe Trails Cancerthon. This is an annual event hosted by our local bike shop to raise money for the Cancer Society.

It is usually an event held outdoors on a criterium type course with solo riders or teams of up to 3. Prizes are given for the solo rider and team in both a men’s and women’s category for most miles ridden in the six hours but the real prize is the money we earn for the Cancer Society.

This year because of COVID teams were limited, solo riding was preferred and they add an indoor competition because they could not host a large event. I am grateful an indoor category was added because the weather on the day of the event was 34 degrees, rain and high wind.

I had a great event surrounded by family. My sister and niece sat in my training area and cheered for me, got me water refills and watched a lot of Netflix. My little niece even joined me for a little while.

Thank you to Santa Fe Trails for hosting an awesome event, Team PossAbilities and all of your sponsors for the continued support.
