Training Camp #2 in the Books

Training Camp #2 in the Books

I just came home from another training camp that was held in Ohio’s Spire Institute, which is a certified training facility for Olympians and Paralympians. The first few days, while we waited for our COVID test results to come back, consisted of a lot of conditioning and dribbling to maintain our social distancing. National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) invited the emerging elite Men’s team to come in and compete against us. The emerging elite squad is the under-23 men’s USA Team. This was the first games that most of us have played in for 13 months, so to say we were excited to compete was an understatement. They were very close games and we ended up winning 2 games and losing 4. The games we lost were very close games, but really great learning experience’s. We improved every game and realized how much potential we have. Our second to last day, our coaching staff gave us half the day off and we got to enjoy the sights of Niagara falls! Our next training camp will be held the end of May where we will be back at the Colorado Springs USOPTC.
