The Heart and Soul of PossAbilities

The Heart and Soul of PossAbilities

As a member of the Team PossAbilities Paralympic program, I am so thankful for all of the support I have been given over the years.  PossAbilities has been amazing to me and has filled my life with opportunities, experiences, a healthy lifestyle, and lifelong friends and family.  With my daughters, Emma (19) and Ella (13), getting older, I realize how precious my time with them is.  So with a full heart, I am stepping down from the PossAbilities Paralympic Program to spend more time with them.  I will still be part of the program but as a supporter, advocate, and fundraiser.

When I joined Team PossAbilites, it was a strong program and had a strong paracycling team.  But over the years, something changed.  What changed was that Cotie Williams became the Director of the program.  Cotie always put people before results.  It was more about being a good representative of PossAbilities than how many medals the team had.  Ironically, by putting people first, the Team attracted the most elite athletes in their respective sports.  Cotie brought passion, emotion, heart, and soul.  When you bring those things to a group of committed and driven elite athletes, great things happen.  When I joined the team, we were good.  As I leave the team, we are the strongest paracycling team in the country.

I would like to thank Loma Linda University Health, the PossAbilities program, the Team PossAbilities Paralympic Program, my teammates, and Cotie Williams for everything you do for the community and everything you have done for me.  I will forever be grateful.
