Pushing Through Plateaus
I just wrapped up a 4 month winter training session focused on low intensity and long hours coupled with a strong strength training program. The last 3 weeks have shown this hard work has paid off! I have pushed through some old plateaus and set myself up to start high intensity interval training in better way than I imagined. My fitness levels have been measured at all time highs as a result of putting in more hours than I have in any past winter training season. There were numerous weeks where I was able to put in more than 15 hours and finish strong with some virtual racing where I made the podium competing against almost 100 abled bodied cyclists on regular bikes! Real racing starts in under a month!
