The Season has Started!
Well, it has started but not the way I was hoping. I made a rookie mistake and I’m not a rookie. First, ended up with low blood glucose before the start which is abnormal but I’ve had some stomach issues on/off for the week pre-race. And second, I thought I’d get away with using my new carbon grip with only trying it for a week pre-event. Is what it is. Live and learn but do not repeat same mistakes.,
Training has ramped back up already and my position is almost dialed in. Today I rode down in Tucson with three h4’s. It so awesome training with people way faster than I am. I was in full TT mode trying to hang on to their wheels and only fell off once. They may have only been in zone 2 and was in 4/5 but I loved every minute of it. It is like motor pacing when I was a teen. It truly os the best training to prep for meeting the national and talent standard. One of my favorite memories from training as a teen was following the motor bike, a couple inches from his rear, up long climbs or going all-out and having to sprint around him at insane speeds. The only bad thing from today was that my foot fell out of the support and I tore a hole in the top of my foot. Need to stay laser-focused on it to avoid infection.
Other than the above my nutrition class starts in 2 weeks. One of my favorite subjects to teach. Once a week trainings in Tucson will continue, one race next month, and my foot…. If you read this I hope you’re well, stay healthy 🙂
