First World Cup in the USA!

We are just two weeks away from the first ever World Cup being hosted in the USA! I came back from Italy with two hard earned 5th place finishes and more things to think about! I’ve continued my typical idiosyncrasies of trying out new things and optimizing my set up around the margins. I can’t wait to try things out and go to battle in Huntsville AL. It’s going to be great to not have to adapt to the new time zone given the Europeans get to enjoy this benefit at almost every competition, and they even use free expert sports picks for the betting on this as well.

The community in Huntsville is very welcoming and they have hosted major events for us the past two years. The course includes many super wide turns we can take at sometimes over 30 miles per hour. I’ve been working on that and my sprinting these past two weeks. My classification of riders (H4) lately has tended to decided the top 3 almost off the start line as we have a few very explosive riders that know they can in the first 5-10 minutes separate themselves from the entire pack. In Italy, I let my head down for only seconds while in 5th position within the group only to find 3 riders had made a very explosive move to separate themselves. I’m pretty light myself and have a very high power to weight ratio but after chasing them for 5 minutes all by myself I couldn’t close the gap they made while they worked together at sprinting speeds to keep it. Being fully attentive at all times and ready to explode is going to be key for this event.
