Corralco Camp was a Success!
Howdy folks,
I’m back from intense few weeks of training and races in Southern Chile. It was amazing, really good to have those days to brush off the cobwebs before the actual season starts.
Going into this trip I was recovering from a low back injury, so not at my best shape. As the days advanced, I kept improving my fitness and also technique. My trusted coach and good friend Mancha was with me every step of the way, and in the end it was a very successful journey.
Not without its troubles; both Mancha’s & my bags didn’t arrive (none of them), so we didn’t train for a while. Bummer because arriving earlier was the whole plan, since I would be racing against able body FIS athletes – some of the best in the sport! The bags & boards arrived eventually and I did race against them but with almost zero training prior. Still, that race was fantastic training in itself.
We also had Para races, which were great training as well. Very few athletes came for this race (so there weren’t so many rankings’ points available). Still, awesome boarder cross course, very well built and with some good but not scary challenges. We had some great days of snow, even got to “ride the volcano” where the ski resort was at -Corralco. I tested a new board that is going to be great at my upcoming Banked Slalom race in the Netherlands.
And of course, there’s always tinkering with the snowboard leg, we’re always testing and playing with different settings and I feel like we dialed it really good this time.
I am really looking forward for next race and this whole next season! Thank you PossAbilities, I’m extremely grateful for your support!
