Bringing 2024 to a close
Preparing for 2025
As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to gear up for the next season and all it has to offer. The World Cup calendar was released just last week, alongside the schedule for domestic events, giving me and my coach plenty to think about as we finalize my race plan. With so many exciting opportunities on the horizon, prioritizing the right events will be key to making 2025 a success.
May is shaping up to be the busiest month of the year, packed with two World Cups, the National Championships, Unbound Gravel, and Tour de Bloom—a local stage race in Washington that’s always a highlight on the calendar. The tight scheduling means I’ll need to make some tough decisions about where to race and what to prioritize. Balancing recovery and peak performance will be crucial, especially with the short turnaround between World Cup Two and Nationals.
April and May will be intense, with racing both in the States and Europe, but the challenge excites me. This is what the sport is all about—pushing limits and making the most of every opportunity.
Training has been going well since returning from the World Championships in Switzerland, where I wrapped up a memorable season. Winter training is always tough—motivation can dip as the days get shorter, but keeping my eyes on the bigger picture makes it worthwhile. Unfortunately, I had a setback last weekend with a crash. It’s never fun, but crashes are part of the sport, and learning to adapt and stay positive is just as important as fitness. I’ve been focusing on recovery and sticking to indoor rides to let everything heal properly.
Despite the hiccup, I’m optimistic about what’s ahead. The lessons learned from every challenge, big or small, only make me stronger. My main goal for the season is Nationals and earning a spot to represent the U.S. at the U23 World Championships. February is just around the corner, and I can’t wait for the season to kick off and see what 2025 has in store.
Here’s to a year of growth, grit, and great racing!
