The Jet Bike has Wings
Merry Christmas a day late! With no racing and only training this month it has been low stress. Actually, stress has been low in other areas of my life as well. First, strength training is going well. My strength is increasing gradually. I need to be more consistent on days per week with the same exercises but days had to be shifted around the holidays. I got a new bar for my rowing that really mimics the pulling motion in pedaling. Second, my nutrition is on point which is a HUGE help. It really helps to eat the same foods consistently. Consistency is another HUGE benefit to training. Lastly, related to training, I got my new frame put together with components and the ergonomic position is a HUGE benefit to my pulling motion on the bike. I freaking LOVE riding more and more as my power numbers are easy to maintain. I’m surprised the frame fits so well. I could have set multiple all-time best power numbers last week, but I chose to slow down. I set one all-time best tonight on my ride just for fun. I had already ridden 44 minutes and thought why not just set a 1 minute all time and I did. It was SO MUCH FUN. Last week I set a 60-minute all time high going submax. Maybe this bike is going to be the game changer. Wish I could have had it last year.
Other than the above, I was selected to the US National Paracycling Team for the first 6 months of 2025. One of my goals is to maintain team status through 2028. My second goal is to be selected to represent Team USA at the World Cup events and World Championships in 2025. I feel really good right now and I need to maintain this consistently. Avoiding drama is very important. Drama and politics among certain organizations and groups of people stress me out. I am going to keep this short for December. I am looking forward to the coming months. I am very excited to get my jet bike on the road as I have only used it on zwift. Until next month, be grateful and remember what we have is a privilege .
