All About Perspective
Hello friends,
We’re just back from a family vacation in Brazil, where I haven’t been in 6 years —that’s the “cost” of the Paralympics. (I travel a lot to races and such, but hadn’t had a chance to go back home:/)
I had a blast, 2 weeks to just relax and be with family and friends. Much needed recharge, for all of us.
Now, I’m back training and really inspired. There’s a little over 40 weeks left for the Paralympics in Cortina 2026. Count down! Let’s say 40 weeks to get in the best shape of my life. That’s what it will take, the “price of admission.” Assuming I will get a spot. We’ll know soon I hope, and I will let everyone know then.
Yesterday, I went for a gym/swim/sauna session at the club. The place is awesome, and in the bathroom I hear this guy saying how “cheap” the shampoo/soap feels in here. I kept to myself, but I’m on the other side of that spectrum; I think they smell plush, and every time I get to smell them, it means I had a workout session = glory! Means I was not working, or, rather, working on myself, on improving physically and getting closer to my goals. To me that smell brings all sorts of happiness. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
It’s all about perspective… how we see things. The count down is on, and I hope I get to smell that countless times!!
