World Cup of ParaSnowboard Cross Lenk, Switzerland 2026
Hello friends,
Following up the harrowing races in Austria, we had Boardercross in Switzerland and I was excited! The country is awesome, the race course is fast and challenging = excellent training, and I had a new Cross board I was super pumped to try.
Well… it didn’t go so well. First nite, deep in my sleep, woke up with my belly feeling super weird and hard, went to the bathroom and the same nightmare from about a year ago repeated itself: an awful episode of food poisoning that saw me going to the toilet every 30min discharging from both ends.
The next day, when I was supposed to get acquainted with my new board, I spent sleeping & recovering. You know these things take a while, you’re not good overnight. So, the next day, official training on a very challenging course, on a brand new & stiff board that takes a while to tame, I wish I had 100% of energy.
But I had very little energy. Gave it a try, was very weak, but I pulled it off, so I went for one more run on the course and called it a day. It was very rough to finish the course on my state, so I decided to go rest some more.
Race day comes -2 days in a row. I amazingly pulled an 8th place on 1st day, but then on 2nd day, I was close to zero on my tank, and had to contend with last place.
All in all, I’m glad I’m in one piece, ready for what’s to come soon: the Paralympics!!
