Hello my friends,
We have so much to talk and uncover from the Paralympics, if we were to meet this could be a long conversation!
It was so much fun and a fairytale in itself. It had great moments, historical moments and also scary moments.
Having my family there with me was priceless, it was the first time they watched me competing in Snowboarding.
I was feeling so ready and so confident because I was coming from a really good training camp pre-games, and I had studied those courses so much.
But the universe had other plans for me… on the first day of course training for Snowboard Cross, I fell on an obstacle and had a concussion. I blacked out instantly and went straight to the hospital for tests. It was scary, three days on a wheelchair, so of course I couldn’t compete on that race.
Luckily, it wasn’t super serious and I was able to recover fast enough and got medically cleared to race on my second event -banked slalom. My body was still hurting a lot and I was on pain meds, but I did what I could and I’m proud to have succeeded. For my country, for my family, for myself.
Right now, as I write this, I am on a sling waiting to get MRI results, because my shoulders are still hurting a lot. I hope it’s not serious but it’s been a few weeks from the accident, so we’ll see…
