Gidday friends,
After a CAT Scan revealed that my bone avulsion (ligaments pulled out pieces of bone) isn’t improving -on the contrary, it’s getting worse – the only solution to get back to 100% is surgery:(
It’s frustrating, and Doctor says it’s a complex one, so it could mean a longer recovery. If I’m lucky, and keep rehabbing my left shoulder, then I may only need surgery on the right.
Time to settle down, rehab, be a good patient, so I don’t damage the repair that will be done. Dr gave me time to improve my range of motion pre-surgery —“prehab.” End of July I go in for arthroscopy, then I’m looking at a 6 to 9 months of rehab work.
Lots of time to think I will have, it’ll be a fresh start. There’s a chance I could be out still when race season starts, but I’m mentally prepared for that if it’s the case.
One day at a time, at least there’s a set goal to make my situation better, because the pain I’ve been enduring is no fun.
