Qualified for the National Team!!

Good news from my race down in Brazil: I actually took second, which secured me a place on their permanent National Paratriathlon Team! This is amazing news, it's 1 of 18 spots, I am still blown away with the news! It was gratifying to know all the hours I'm putting into this are paying off. Now the hard work starts! What that means is that now I get to participate on specific events that one has to qualify for. All...

My first Triathlon in Brasil

April 6th, Caraguatatuba, SP: Just finished racing in my home Country, the first of two in the Nationals Paratriathlon Circuit. This place is a 3hr drive from the city of São Paulo, and what a drive! Lots of water -rivers, lakes, dams and finally the ocean. Wild, untouched forest. It's this luscious green throughout the drive, specially on the way down this dramatic mountain range that takes you to beautiful secluded beaches on the North Coast. A reminder of...

Racing in Kona!

While in Hawaii, I also did a Sprint Triathlon in Kona, on the Big Island. It was filmed by the Deep Blue Films crew for Mormaii. That island is dreamy, and also the Mecca where our sport (Triathlon) was born --more specifically, the Ironman. While I'm not ready for an Ironman, ( plus I have another goal) we raced on the exact same places, same transition place and all. It was the most beautiful place I raced in my...

Training season in Hawaii

Hello folks! In February I received a great offer from my wetsuit sponsor, Mormaii, from Brasil. They invited me to be part of a documentary that is going to air on a Sports Cable Channel in Brasil, called Canal Off. There were 3 other athletes and myself, each one following a different path, but with one thing in common: love of the ocean. I was the triathlete that is training to qualify for the Paralympics, that was my plot!...

Happy New Year!

What a great year 2013 was! It brought me so much happiness, pleasures, medals and inspiration! A lot of travelling and a lot of good moments! Most of them involved races and events, thanks to PossAbilities, who keep bringing direction, purpose and guidance not only for me but for a lot of people. And for that I am and will always be grateful. I grew up a lot as an athlete and was also humbled down countless times. I...

San Diego Triathlon Challenge

Back from vacation and straight to San Diego for the SDTC. It's such a beautiful celebration for our sport and it's beautiful to see all those challenged athletes overcoming their own obstacles! Team PossAbilities was with full power there and we had 3 relay teams. On my part I did the swim, it was an ok performance. I was fighting a cold so that didn't help my cause, but I finished 1 mile in 25min. That was the final event...

Brasil Training Season

For 3 weeks I was down in Brasil during the month of October, we had a wedding to attend and it was good to spend quality time with family and friends. The training never stops though, and it feels good to only train and not have to worry about work! I worked on my running form and did some surfing also, but mainly focused on my swimming. I was preparing to swim 1 mile representing PossAbilities at the San Diego...

Tempe Triathlon AZ: Sucess!

Hello friends and family of Team PossAbilities! In late September I had an important event in Lake Tempe, AZ, part of the National Circuit of Parathriatlon. I felt really good when I checked in for the Race the day before because my number was 805 - the area code from where I live! What are the chances that out of 1300 athletes I would get be #805?! Arizona is sooo hot and dry, it makes it difficult to race in...

New Coach!

Great news: We have the pleasure of announcing my new Coach, Jack Bianchi, to our dear friends (www.bianchicoaching.com). He's got lots of experiences in the triathlon world, personal and with athletes (including challenged ones). I felt right at home when I met him, just a great, solid and humble guy with lots to teach. Things are kicking in the right gear... Welcome to the Team Coach Jack! Coach Jack! TBN TV Show

This week we had the opportunity of being in a tv show called Joy In My Town, sharing the word about PossAbilities and how amazing them and Loma Linda University are. It's going live on TBN, I'll get the showtimes back to you guys soon. We had JJ (already a rockstar!) and his mom Laura Miller, my dear "Godmother" Cotie Williams and myself. Thanks for the opportunity PossAbilities, Keturah Reed (from the Media Dept) and TBN! With our hostess Reba Toney
