September means school is back in session…but not before one last beautiful San Simeon cycling vacation is in the books! By Jenna Rollman

September has been a great month with lots of adventures, fun, and a new beginning for me as a college student! The summer is over but I went on one last camping trip at San Simeon State Park, cycling up and down California’s stunning central coast exploring new roads and revisiting favorite routes to take in the ocean’s incredible beauty while riding my handcycle! Ragged Point, the small coastal town of Cayucos, Morro Bay, and Montana de Oro State Park [...]

First Ride Back in the Handcycle

It’s been just about two years since I’ve been able to ride/train in a handcycle. As I continue to reach my peak and push boundaries, I’m constantly trying to train in all different areas. I’m beyond grateful to be able to train with some of my teammates. Zimri, Alfonso, and I had a great training ride along the Santa Ana River Trail from San Bernardino to Riverside and back. We even did a bonus climb up Mt. Rubidoux in [...]

Summer Vacation is over, now it’s time to return to racing!! Team PossAbilities heats up the competition at the August Piru TT! By: Jenna Rollman

After enjoying a wonderful vacation in July exploring the natural beauty of Mammoth Mountain and North Lake Tahoe it was time to transition back into a competitive mindset and resume a more structured training regimen for the remainder of the summer. I hadn’t raced at all since the conclusion of the Paracycling National Championships in Georgia so my coach and I thought it would be a good idea to gauge my current fitness by going out to the Piru [...]

2018 Paracycling National Championships–Awesome adventures in Augusta Georgia and reaching a new level of success!! By Jenna Rollman

The most important event at the 2018 Paracycling National Championships was the Time Trial. This race served as the qualifier to be selected for the second World Cup in Emmen, Netherlands or to make it on the National Team, requiring hopeful athletes to meet the National Standard in their respective classification, which is no easy task! On the morning of the time trial my stomach was filled with butterflies and my mind blankly unfocused as I got ready to warm [...]

TT is the name of the game for April 2018!! Spring training is in full swing! By Jenna Rollman.

April has been a pretty active month for me and Team PossAbilities!! The weekend following Easter Sunday I headed out to Fillmore to race the Piru Time Trial for the first time in 2018, it was nice to be challenged again on the hilly 20K course and I was driven to gain a personal record. There was a significant wind blowing at start time which would provide a superb tailwind going out however I was trepidacious when thinking about [...]

March Madness at the Fiesta Island Time Trial!! The weather won’t keep me from trying my best!! By Jenna Rollman

My mood was positive in looking forward to performing well coming off the success I achieved at February’s Valley of the Sun despite the heavily rainy weather in the week leading up to and the day before the TT, it was forecasted to clear out and [...]

Valley of the Sun Stage 3–Downtown Phoenix Criterium. The final race for the 2018 Valley of the Sun is the fastest and most intense of all, taking place right in the heart of Downtown Phoenix and giving the competitors one last chance to make up time lost during the road race or to solidify their top standings in the overall GC! The handcycle criterium was slated to start at 2:35pm of which I felt very grateful for because the physical [...]
