World Paratriathlon Series Japan 2018

Konichiwa!
May saw me flying to the land of the rising sun –Japan, more specifically the city of Yokohama, about 20min from Tokyo.
I was extra excited to have my brother with me there, he’s never seen me racing at that level, and he was super happy. I’m really grateful he was with me on this trip. Also had my good friends Trevor & Geovana from Santa Barbara. Good support team!
Great race, super high level with 6 Paralympians in the lineup. I tried my best, and had a Personal Best in my swim and in my run. But the bike was the problem… and because of that I didn’t have a big fighting chance and took 7th place.
On my new bike, I didn’t have that holster that attaches to the frame (where I put my stump in). It wasn’t ready yet… unfortunately these things take time, and money. It turns out it got ready the following week back from the race.
Not super happy with that result overall but I did my best with what I had, and the “Road to Tokyo” is ON. This is a marathon and not a sprint.
Next race up is Italy at the end of June, and hopefully I’ll do better at that one. Arigato all for your continued support!
