2nd Place in Finland! – 2025

Howdy folks! This is my 4th time in Finland and it did not disappoint! We got there early for a training camp which was key for my success in the race. Long hours training, the body was taking a beating. When the day off came, my muscles were so ready for a rest and I also saw an osteopath that helped with a “locked neck.” We got all kinds of weather there; from really cold which was excellent snow quality to too...

Setting up for the Season

Hey friends, Hoping everyone has been having a good year end. Mine has been great: Training is going well, we had my parents visiting, work is good, everything is flowing.  The prosthesis socket problems I had are being worked on, and should be all ready soon so I can get the leg really dialed. The boot I broke during my last race trip couldn’t be fixed so warranty sent me a new one. Nice & stiff, just what I need for my upcoming...

Indoor Landgraaf not so well

Howdy folks.  Today I share about my last race, banked slalom (indoor) at Landgraaf in the Netherlands. I missed this place, it’s so fun and practical, the course is epic to test your mettle, not to mention I was 1st here, (twice!) last year at Europa Cup.  This year I was back in the elites, racing World Cup -the highest level, so very unlikely to take 1st again.  With 2 weeks before the race, I noticed a crack on my snowboard prosthesis socket,...

Upcoming 24/25 Season

Hey friends, After a successful training camp in Chile, my racing calendar is set!  In November, during Thanksgiving week I’ll be in the Netherlands racing at that indoor location, Landgraaf. This will my first time back again racing at the elite level, it’s a World Cup. Then in January I’ll have 2 back to back events: training camp + race in Finland (at Pyhä, an epic location) and then straight to Switzerland! Pretty excited for that one… In between races I’ll have some on...

Corralco Camp was a Success!

Howdy folks, I’m back from intense few weeks of training and races in Southern Chile. It was amazing, really good to have those days to brush off the cobwebs before the actual season starts. Going into this trip I was recovering from a low back injury, so not at my best shape. As the days advanced, I kept improving my fitness and also technique. My trusted coach and good friend Mancha was with me every step of the way, and in the...

Injured Before Camp

Hello people,  Today I’m sharing about the doubts that athletes always have in their minds, specially when injured.  My training was coming along nicely, increasing intensity and frequency of workouts. Then on Sunday morning, body is sore from previous days, and cold, and I did a stupid movement / motion -bending & twisting my back to move a light piece of furniture, then I feel a pop! Pain came in instantly and it got worse as the days went by… not good....

Chile RACES added!

Hello partners, We got some good news, Para races will be added in Chile, put on by Brazil, that’ll be a first! That means I’ll start (if I do well) accumulating points - very important for my Italy 2026 Paralympics campaign, the window opens now! Super excited with the news, because at first I thought it would be just training, but now we’re switching gears into race mode. It gives me an extra oomph for training.  That, on top of watching the Paris...

2019 Annual PossAbilities Triathlon – Success!

Hey guys, For this year's PossAbilities triathlon I had the same goal as previous years --to make sure I beat Zimri! We developed this healthy rivalry, even though we're not in the same class. Tell you what, he kept me on my toes this year. For one, I wasn't training full time like before, but still had been going strong. The main fact is that Zim's new coach is a great athlete that I personally know and like, Jamie Brown. I knew...

SDTC 2019 edition:

Another year in the books for San Diego Triathlon Challenge! It’s such a good tradition, just a solid, beautiful weekend of seeing old friends, making new ones, put on good workouts and have a good time! PossAbilities was represented by Zimri Solis and myself, besides the always excellent support of Cotie Williams and also Christina Nieto & family this year! As per usual, I did the swim. Started with my rival Mark Barr, but he smoked me as usual —remember he has 2...

Back to Drawing Board

Hello folks,  Now that the season is officially over, it’s time to settle into my back at home and “base fitness” regime.  As beautiful as the photos & videos that coach did from all the training & racing, there’s a lot to dissect & improve watching those… I know what I’m doing wrong and also what I have to do to improve, on the technique side of things. There’s tweaks to be made on the snowboard leg - which by the way just...
