2026 Season Starter

Gutten morgen my friends! I arrived in Germany and was supposed to be on my way driving to Austria, to train for my 1st race of the year! But all my luggage had other plans and didn’t show up, so we’re staying put in a hotel until we hear from the airport, so we can collect the bags.  Better than going to a resort, where mail access is dependent on weather —it could be many days waiting until bags would show up.  This irritates...

2025: It’s a wrap!

Greetings friends, Today I was doing a recap on my mind of the past season.  It was definitely action packed and exciting, I traveled quite a bit and had some great results, and some not so much. That’s how it goes… most importantly, I still feel I’m improving and always gaining more confidence in myself and my snowboard riding.  I started with a 7th place at the Banked Slalom race in the Netherlands (November ’24); had a great 2nd place in Snowboard Cross...

100 DAYS OUT TO CORTINA-MILANO 2026

Good day folks, I hope everyone is doing good:) November is here, change of weather… That means I’ll be soon practicing in the snow and race season is coming! This year we chose to not do the Netherlands indoor race during Thanksgiving, so I could spend more time in Europe later, training pre-games. There’s some planing in which races I’ll be competing (& training), and I am so looking forward to that feeling again! Snowboarding is a sport that keeps me on...

Keep dreaming!

Hello folks, I hope everyone is doing well:) I’ve been focusing each and every day on improving myself in some way, since I’m in midst of preparing to one of the most important seasons / events of my life! To get to the Paralympics is hard work, it doesn’t happen overnight. I’m proud that I tried, and then tried again instead of giving up. And then I got there! Had I not tried or given up on the 1st failure, this feeling...

Chile Races & Camp = great training

Greetings friends! I’m back from 2 weeks of action packed days in southern Chile. We went to Corralco again, where I had a total of 6 races. My low back was still achy so I kept up with stretching, mobility and strengthening exercises and improved to almost normal by trip’s end! It was time to test a few new things: a snowboard knee, a snowboard prosthetic socket, new boards. The boards never arrived on time, which was actually a blessing: there was little...

History Repeats Itself :(

Hi guys,  Not so good news for me, I hurt my low back, again -a little bit of a setback.  The same, almost exact injury happened last year, about a month before I head out to Chile for a camp. Same story now.  As I was getting more fit, increasing the number of workouts on the loading phase pre training camp, the injury happened during a weight session. I felt a little twinge on my low back, left side, and knew right away...

Milano – Cortina closer!

Hello friends, I got some great news. The path to Cortina 2026 Paralympics is in sight!  While no official announcements have been made, I learned I opened a spot for Brazil in Men’s Para-Snowboarding, for the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. This is 1 of 20 coveted spots, the total in my category.  In other words, that should go to me, since I am the better qualified from Brazil in the international rankings:) This is exciting! As it stands right now, we have 229 days...

The Power of Psychology

Hello friends, I am so grateful for the team that surrounds me, it is true what they say that “it takes a village”. Part of my village is Sports Psychologist Cristina Nunes, whom I met during the Beijing Paralympic Games and continue to have access to her.  Up until then I had never talked to a sports psychologist, and she does such a good job. Now, leading to the next Games, we meet virtually every other week or even weekly at times.  She...

All About Perspective

Hello friends, We’re just back from a family vacation in Brazil, where I haven’t been in 6 years —that’s the “cost” of the Paralympics. (I travel a lot to races and such, but hadn’t had a chance to go back home:/) I had a blast, 2 weeks to just relax and be with family and friends. Much needed recharge, for all of us. Now, I’m back training and really inspired. There’s a little over 40 weeks left for the Paralympics in Cortina 2026....
