Already back at it!

Hi, last month I reported on my performance at the world championships in Scotland. Hard to believe 1.5 months has gone by. I took a couple weeks off the bike but then got on my ebike and started to train again. I was back in the gym immediately. I absolutely love strength training! My riding has been 30 minutes to 1.5 hours and mixed intensities. It is still an active-rest time for the next couple weeks. I am also most likely going to be starting my season very early this year in January with a world cup in Adelaide, Australia. This changes the approach I have taken previously to the beginning of the season. I know it is doable though and am excited!

Something I am going to be adamant about through December and into the new year is keeping a schedule and being consistent. This must include avoiding unnecessary distractions. The build to Paris needs to be consistent. Paris is not even a guarantee. I feel I am moving into unchartered waters yet I am not at the same time. Grateful I have the time and resources to dedicate towards my training.

So I like to ride zwift. But, I like to ride outdoors so much more than riding zwift. And, even better to train with other handcyclists. I have a 2.5 mile loop, goes much further but requires crossing roads, just across the fence in my backyard. This loop is great to get out on and ride to just get miles or get out of the house. A good route to do 1.25 miles intervals on one way and then ride easy back. Or, I can take my ebike out on it and just ride to ride even going on some dirt parts off to the side. Tomorrow is a long ebike ride in the morning and then I’ll come home to work on designing a final for the sport injury class I teach. Until next month, get some miles in!
