Camps, Commercials, and Camps :)
Hi everyone! The season is in full swing now and life on the road for the next few months has begun!
After coming back from the competition in North Carolina I did a few weeks of training at home, fencing lessons, strength and conditioning, and ballroom. Then it was time to head up to Orion Fencing in Washington for a training camp with some of the other members of the US National Team as well as the local able bodied athletes who train there.
Camp was a lot of fun! We did a few days of saber, and two local walk and roll tournaments where the able bodied people fence each other in able bodied fencing, and sit in a chair to fence the para athletes. It’s very fun and people always enjoy the change. That camp was supposed to be two weeks long but I was called back to Orange County to film a commercial for Nike part way through. Talk about awesome! Details are still emerging but this will be amazing!!!
After I finish filming and get everything ready I’ll depart for Spain on Friday for another training camp! I will be training with members of the Argentinian, Spanish, and Ukrainian national teams in Barcelona. The plan is to stay there for about 2.5 weeks and then compete in para nationals for fencing in Salt Lake City at the end of the month. This month is very busy and super exciting!
