My First World Championships

After a great performance at the world cup in Belgium I was selected to my first world championships with Team USA. The competition would be held in Portugal from June 9-13. In Belgium I was in great shape and ready to see what I could do against the worlds best but my health had other plans. I had an infection that took its toll on me and my fitness began to drop right before...

Paralympic Cycling Trials

The time trial for the opportunity to represent Team USA in Tokyo at the Paralympic Games is finally here. It has been a long journey and a lot of my friends and family have sacrificed so much for me to be able to go for this goal. I have a passion for riding my bike and getting faster but, a passion without that support is nothing to me. My wife has been there from day 1 and has seen me...

Belgium world cup

Its May and its time for the first and only world cup of the 2021 race calender hosted by Ostend Belgium May 9-11. Covid still leaves its mark on 2021's handcycle race schedule by getting the world cup in Italy canceled so luckily Ostend Belgium was able to push through and host this event. Before entering the country all participants were asked that they complete a pre travel covid test to ensure safety when entering the country. Once in Belgium...

US paracycling Open

Racing is in full swing for 2021 and the first big race of the season is the US paracycling open held in Huntsville Alabama April 17-18. I was feeling great and in top form and I was ready to race is it a race. ...

Another Day another grind triathlon in my mind.

Had a week off training to recover from my knee but was perfect timing got to spend time with my kids and reflect on sone of the things i need to work on not only as an athlete but as a father. While they work on my running leg to get lighter im focusing on my body to help with my speed by maintaining a strict meal plan and staying discipline waiting on a qualification approval to be at national...

US Paracycling Open

Day 1 - TRAVEL DAY As I sit in the terminal waiting to board the flight from Houston to Huntsville, I am relieved when I see  my bike and wheels go up the conveyor belt into the airplane. That, to me, is the most stressful part about the travel day is 1, that all my equipment arrives and 2, that it arrives safely. The plan for when I arrive in Huntsville will be pretty easy. Just a van, check into the...

Questions in the air

Hello brothers & sisters, I celebrated my 40th birthday in great style. Went up to Big Bear Mountain and was blessed with steady snow fall —perfect for riding! I only had a day so made the most out of it, about 7 hours riding. I pushed hard on my training and could barely move at nite on the way back. A day well lived... That was probably the season finale for me, as snow will be melting in the mountains close by....

Hard Work

Whats the reward for hard work? More hard work. After having a pretty successful Swamp Classic and getting some of the rust from the lack of racing knocked off, there is no time for celebrations or for time off. This is not one of the goals from this 2021 year. The ultimate goal is the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Since this is the goal, I need to get back to my training sessions right away. Racing is fun and, honestly, the...
