Brazil National Champion:)

Greetings fellow PossAbilities enthusiasts! Today I report about my season ender race, the Final of our national Circuit in Brazil. Since I compete representing Brazil internationally, I have to do at least one event on their circuit. This race was in south Brazil, close to a lot of family and friends that live between 2-4hours away, so I had maximum attendance:)) -Never had so many (close) people cheering me on like that! It was surreal happiness, had to focus to not do...

San Diego Tri 2017

Hello San Diego, 2017 marked another successful year for members of PossAbilities representing at the San Diego Triathlon Challenge. I was excited about the swim, had been training hard, and the surf was big, meaning I could have an advantage... but it turns out it was too big for the event, so they had to cancel it for the first time. Bummer, but i understand it and am all about safety first. I then did the cycling on that event for the first...

Nationals 2017

Nationals 2017 This year nationals took us to Grand Junction, Colorado. This was exciting because it was the first time I had a couple of fellow para-cyclist from Team PossAbilities make the trip. Although it was May it felt like December outside. I got to experience my first major hail storm on my bike when went out for a preview of the course prior to the races. Although the weather wasn’t ideal for a Californian, I managed to finish 4th in the TT....

2016 Nationals

2016 Season Recap My 2016 Para-cycling season ended on a very positive note. Although I failed to accomplish my goal of qualifying for the Paralympic games this cycle, I must admit I’m very excited for an opportunity to continue my quest on to the 2020 games in Tokyo. Since this was an Olympic year our cycling season was unusually short. I did have a chance to compete at the Redlands Classic (my favorite race) as a tune up for Nationals. I secured...

Paratriathlon Worlds Finals, Rotterdam – Netherlands September 15th, 2017

Aloha fellow Team PossAbilities supporters and enthusiasts! Today we're here to report about the Finals in Rotterdam. Everything about that race was tough: the weather, the course, the competitors. It was the same usual suspects, with varying degrees of disability (and unfairness in some cases as we know). After a smooth 10 hour flight from LAX to Amsterdam, I met with Team Brazil in the airport and we drove to Rotterdam. Beautiful 2 hour drive through green fields, a lot of cattle...

World Paratriathlon Series Canada 2017

Hello friends of Team PossAbilities! Once again I found myself in Edmonton, in the beautiful state of Alberta, Canada, for some hot racing action. It really takes a village to prime an athlete, it doesn’t happen overnight, and I am so grateful to have these opportunities! Weather was amazing and I was feeling good with my perfomance, had a good run at the end and battled hard to finish 5th. Honestly, frustration is taking over, but I am not gonna give up. The State Street Mile (June 2017)

Hello my faithful PossAbilities readers, This past Sunday, June 4th, I ran for the 3rd year in a row a popular race in my adopted town, and took 1st Place! Although happy with my placing, my time from last year's was better. I had been training "mile repeats" longer for last year's, and this year (with all the triathlon training) I just remembered State Street Mile about 2 weeks before the event... but no complaints!  Every year they're getting better, and for...

The 2017 PossAbilities Triathlon

Hi there!I finally was able to participate in the PossAbilities Triathlon this year again. Haven't raced this since 2014, when I did it in honor of our little dog Yoda, who had just passed away. I missed the last 2 years due to important races in the ITU Calendar.  It was great to be back, and one of my motivations for that race was to see if could still finish ahead of Zimry...  Zimry Solis is one of the up and coming...

World Paratriathlon Series: Gold Coast of Australia 2017

Hello, I am truly blessed to go to these amazing places to compete, and some we get to go back again. Australia for instance, was the 3rd time I competed there. They changed location this year again, which keeps it exciting. This year's locale was beautiful as usual, the "Goldie". Race was very hard, I did not do well -5th. Most of the athletes that podiumed at Rio Paralympics were here, so it was tough game.  What's really special was having my wife...
